Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada (AAFC) has recently launched a new section on its website which provides, in one central location, access to information on tools, programs and services available to young and beginning farmers to help them get established and manage a successful farming operation. Although there is no grant available for starting a farm business, Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada (AAFC) offers the Canadian Agricultural Loans Act (CALA) program, a financial loan guarantee program that gives beginning and existing farmers easier access to credit. Farmers can use these loans to establish, improve, and develop farms; while Agricultural co-operatives may also access loans to process, distribute, or market the products of farming.
